The Lakewood Short Term Rental (STR) Alliance (LSTRA) advocates for a cooperative and partnered approach with the City of Lakewood to establish regulations and ordinances for STRs in our city. 

We are homeowners and non-commercial entities interested in renting out our homes or portions of our homes for a period of 29 days or less, and we acknowledge that the rise of platforms such as AirBnB and VRBO have created the need for structure and regulation.  We desire to achieve a balance between the need for alternative housing and lodging while still preserving the character of our community.

We strive to work with city leaders to pull together a strong but reasonable regulatory program that does not harm property rights, respects our citizens and neighborhoods, and continues to provide short-term rental accommodations that support our city’s visitor industry and local economy.
